The Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2020, passed by congress in December 2020, made several changes to the employee retention tax credits previously made available under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), including modifying and extending the Employee Retention Credit (ERC), for six months through June 30, 2021. This tax credit is available to businesses, including non-profits, that were impacted by governmental orders limiting commerce, travel, or group meetings due to COVID-19, or that experienced a decline in gross receipts per IRS requirements.
We understand the importance of your organization with the services you provide to the community and want to help you succeed in any way we can. With that in mind, we are organizing two webinars next week for you to learn more about the changes to the ERC and to evaluate if it is a fit for your agency. The presenters will be a group that worked closely with congress during the creation of the Act and have expertise in applying for the credits.
